Wild Ramps

from $0.00

Allium tricoccum

Also known as Wild Leek, Wild Ramps are one of the first sure signs spring is here to stay when the green shoots begin to emerge and carpet the forest floor.

A prized edible spring ephemeral has led to over harvest and diminished presence in many forests. Best harvest practice is to only take one leaf per plant and not touch the bulbs which are needed for energy storage once the plant goes dormant come mid-late summer. If bulbs are taken, choose sparingly (never more than 10%) and be sure to only take the bulb portion, not the rhizome root at the base of the bulb.

*Only available during early spring in limited quantities
