It thrives in moist sites with full-part sun making it a great option near ponds or waterways or in a large rain garden. Spreading by rhizomes, Shining Aster can form large colonies.

As with many other Asters, Shining Aster is a late bloomer providing much needed nectar for Monarch and other butterflies, bumblebees, wasps and more.

Like all Asters, Shining Aster is widely popular with many pollinators and serves as a host plant for over 112 pollinators.
