Prunella vulgaris var. lanceolata

Also known as Lance-leaf Self-heal, this plant is a favourite of mine for how versatile it is. Self Heal makes a lovely border plant growing between 8” - 20” tall with usually light to dark purple flower clusters, but can sometimes be pink or white. Self Heal can work as a ground cover in high traffic and mowed areas keeping it to a much shorter height.

Self Heal is easy to grow and performs well in a variety of soil types, sun and moisture conditions making it a lovely addition to any garden.

Self Heal, as its name might suggest, is a very versatile medicinal plant with anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and astringent properties. It has been traditionally used to heal skin ailments, reduce fevers, as well as help heart conditions, diabetes, cancer and more.
