Asclepias incarnata

Rose Milkweed, also commonly called Swamp Milkweed grows best in moist soils, but will tolerate average soils. This variety of milkweed grows up to 4’ tall and has flat clusters of rosy pink flowers that are loved by many butterflies, bees and other pollinators. As with the other Milkweed varieties, Butterfly Milkweed is an essential plant for the survival of the Monarch Butterfly. Showy blooms also make wonderfully scented cut flowers. As with other Milkweeds, you’ll find Rose Milkweed provides lasting colour with an extended bloom time.

Birds love the seeds of Milkweed and many will pull apart dried stalks to create fibers used to build nests.
