Carex pensylvanica

Pennsylvania Sedge is a great groundcover option for is fine leaf and short stature, keeping to roughly 8” in height. It spread slowly by rhizome covering roughly 3” - 8” per year. Very versatile, Pennsylvania Sedge can tolerate full sun to full shade with average to dry soils. I find it will do best in part sun - part shade areas with average to average/dry soil and does not tolerate heavy foot traffic.

Also known as Oak Sedge.
