Heart Leaved Aster, also known as Common Blue Wood Aster, can tolerate full sun to full shade and a range of well drained soil, but will do best in part sun conditions. As with many other Asters, Heart Leaved Aster blooms copious amounts of flowers with an extended bloom time to appeal to many late season pollinators.

Heart Leaved Aster is named such for the heart shape of its lower leaves and as per its alternate common name, Common Blue Aster, it boasts blue/purple flowers and grows to about 3’ tall.

Like all Asters, Heart Leaved Aster is widely popular with many pollinators and serves as a host plant for over 112 pollinators.
