Viola canadensis

Woodland species of violet with white blooms that enjoys dappled sun with rich moist soil. This species of violet is not aggressive, like it’s cousin the Common Blue Violet. It spreads slowly, growing in clumps and has dark green heart shaped leaves. Flowers are white with a yellow center and a touch of purple on the back of the upper petals. Canada Violet makes a wonderful addition to shade gardens.
